Happy New Year Grace Members,
We are the lead church this month for Manna on Meridian and will be distributing food on Saturday, January 16. However, similar to the last few months, we will do things a bit differently to protect the health and well-being of everyone involved. For example, a smaller group of volunteers (10-20) will distribute groceries and produce to recipients in their cars. Also, we will not offer the clothing closet or hospitality table (and we are not accepting clothing donations at this time).
If you would like to help distribute groceries on Saturday the 16th, please reply to kris.albers [@] yahoo.com so we can keep a headcount.
We are asking volunteers to arrive between 7:00-8:00 am. We usually wrap up around 10:00 am.
We could use 3 - 5 volunteers to arrive around 7:00 am to help set up tables and begin moving the grocery bags out to the tables. This is a great activity for high school students needing volunteer hours for Florida Bright Futures.
Some of the tasks that volunteers can do include:
· Bring grocery and produce bags from the Manna building to the distribution site
· Direct traffic
· Place grocery and produce bags in cars
Bring a water bottle.
Until we resume normal activities, you can help support Manna through your prayers and monetary donations. Also, we are the "tuna" church for Manna and we are still accepting food donations, which can be dropped off in the box outside the office door.
Thank you for your faithful support of the Manna ministry. The donations to this ministry have been generous throughout this year and have allowed us to serve more members of our community. In May, we were providing bags to 135-140 households. Last month, we provided bags to 214 households.
We hope everyone is taking care, and we look forward to continuing our work together in the near future.
Burt VonHoff and Kris-Tena Albers
