Celebrate Advent with Grace Lutheran!

Updated: Dec 20, 2019

This Sunday, December 1st is the commencement of a new Church Year, as well as the first Sunday in Advent. As we journey through these four weeks, and prepare our hearts to welcome the Christ child at Christmas - and to anticipate his promised coming again at the end of the age - we have much going on in our congregation and our community. Please see below for exciting information on events, activities and special worship opportunities during the month of December.

Our Advent Midweek Services will be held on December 4th, 11th and 18th at 7pm. As we move through the season of Advent, we take intentional time to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord. You are invited to join us each Wednesday for a short service of Evening Prayer, singing and a reflection.

Decorating Day is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th, beginning at 9 a.m. We'll put up the Holiday Trees, the angels (inside and out) and the other touches that help make the anticipation of the birth of Christ a little more tangible.

On Sunday December 1st and Sunday December 8th, we will worship as usual at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.

On December 15th we will have regular worship at 8:15 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. the Chancel Choir will present their Christmas Music Sunday. Sunday school will be held at 9:30 a.m., as usual.

On Sunday, December 22nd, the Fourth Sunday in Advent, we will gather for worship as usual at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday school will go on as usual, unless you hear differently from your class facilitator.

On Tuesday, December 24th, we will celebrate the Nativity of Our Lord with two Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, one at 5pm and one at 8pm.

And on Sunday, December 29th, the First Sunday of Christmas, we will host a service of Lessons and Carols at 9:30 a.m. Since it is also the fifth Sunday of the month, we will have our Healing Service that day, as well. Please note that there is only one worship service this week and there will be no Sunday school.
